The Bottle Yard is proud to welcome its very first radio station tenant – SoulTrain Radio DAB.

The dynamic station has moved into its brand-new studio residence, located in three of our former edit rooms, in preparation for its DAB launch in December.

SoulTrain Radio DAB came about as the result of 25 years of the legendary SoulTrain, one of Bristol’s most famous and longest running club nights, founded by Paul Alexander (pictured) in 1992. After internet broadcasting over the past two years, the station is now set to launch on DAB playing “classic Motown sounds, sexy soul ballads, 70’s & 80’s rare groove, quintessential jazz, mind blowing funk to modern day soul and RnB, broadcasting 24 hours a day, every day.”

Site Director of The Bottle Yard Studios Fiona Francombe says: “It’s a huge plus for us to add a radio tenant to the wide variety of media companies we have on site, and feels only right that it should be a station devoted to entertaining music fans living right here in Bristol. SoulTrain has been very much a part of Bristol’s cultural identity, with an established and devoted following. We’re extremely proud that it will be taking the exciting step forwards to onto the DAB airwaves, to delight listeners from their new base at The Bottle Yard.”

Founder and Chairman Paul Alexander says: “SoulTrain has been a labour of love for many years and finally we have reached a point where we can bring the joy of soul music to the masses. It’s going to be fantastically soulful.” Referring to its new location, Paul explains “SoulTrain Radio DAB is the only independent soul music station in Bristol and we are very proud of that. We are excited to be based somewhere that has such an outstanding reputation for providing production services and to be the first radio station being broadcast from The Bottle Yard is a privilege for us.”
