The Mimic starts shooting at The Bottle Yard Studios

We bid a warm welcome to Channel 4’s The Mimic, who joined us in the New Year to prep for their second series which started shooting on 27 January. This heart-warming comedy centres on the fortunes of Martin Hurdle, an everyday maintenance man who conceals an uncanny ability to mimic voices.

Produced by Running Bare Pictures, The Mimic stars talented impressionist Terry Mynott, pictured above (The Morgana Show, Very Important People), Jo Hartley (This is England), Neil Maskell (Utopia) and also features Ralph Brown, Cavan Clerkin, Rebecca Gethings, Ami Metcalf, Ruth Sheen, John Thompson and Peter White.

The Mimic’s Line Producer, Stephen Abrahams, said: “Being at The Bottle Yard Studios has been a great help during pre-production – with the whole team in their offices and stores, all together under one roof. It’s a joy to have everyone working alongside one another, with the support of Fiona and her team at The Bottle Yard Studios.”

The Mimic’s first series, which broadcast weekly from 13 March 2013, attracted a final average viewership of 1.3 million. It is written by Russel Brand’s former writing partner Matt Morgan (Very Important People) and directed by Kieron Hawkes (Ripper Street).
