The original lock-up garage door used for filming scenes for the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses is now on display in the British Motor Museum, alongside Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter’s Ford Capri Ghia Mk III (1980) and Reliant Regal Supervan (1972).

The door comes from the Bristol City Council-owned garage site at Duckmoor Road, Bedminster, which was used as the filming location for Del Boy’s fictional Peckham high rise flats, ‘Nelson Mandela House’.

Following renovations to the site in 2021, the garage door that was used in the show to secure the precious goods for Trotters Independent Trading Co, was saved by The Bottle Yard Studios team.

It was passed to collector Scott Harrington in return for a donation to The Film & TV Charity, and is currently on loan from Mr Harrington to the British Motor Museum.

The garage door and cars are now available to see every day that the Museum is open. Lovely jubbly!
