It was a milestone moment for us last week at The Bottle Yard Studios, as we welcomed the first cohort of trainees embarking on our new Film/High-End TV Workforce Development Programme for their first session!

This brand new, industry-focussed training scheme is designed to equip participants with the skills they need to become ‘set-ready’ for a career in scripted film and TV production.

Over the course of the 5-week programme our group of 15 participants will undertake a variety of workshops developing crucial skills needed to work in the industry, including interpersonal, digital and employment skills, as well as benefiting from masterclasses with industry professionals.

We’re excited to be partnering with Stepping Up to deliver the programme. Stepping Up are market leaders in diversity and inclusion training, receiving recognition from the National Diversity Awards in both 2020 and 2023.

On working together, Stepping Up CEO, Christine Bamford said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the contract to support the Bottle Yard Studios’ delivery of the innovative and exciting Film/High End TV Workforce Development Project.”

We are proud to be supporting people from a variety of backgrounds currently underrepresented in the industry to access this training programme. The programme will run twice more this year, with applications for round 2 opening in May. Please see here for more information and how to take part.

The scheme is funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority’s Mayoral Priority Skills Fund which provides flexible grants to meet current priority skills gaps in the region. It is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
