Join us on 24th October at Watershed for this exclusive screening of Sky Atlantic’s much-loved Arctic thriller, Fortitude (episode 1, series 3) followed by a Q&A with creator/writer Simon Donald and Executive Producer Patrick Spence, as we delve into the creative collaboration behind the show, the challenges of making high end drama and the secrets of its success.
Made by Fifty Fathoms, the series was filmed at The Bottle Yard Studios earlier this year as well as on location in Svalbard, Norway where writer Simon Donald found his original inspiration for the series.
Fortitude has been described as “wholly immersive” by The Observer and “stunning and brilliantly acted” by Empire.
The evening will start with a screening of a short ‘behind the scenes’ film by boomsatsuma students from the Film & TV Production Diploma. These students visited the set of Fortitude at The Bottle Yard earlier this year, to gain valuable insight into what goes into a major TV shoot, made possible by production company Fifty Fathoms.
Fortitude is written by Simon Donald (Low Winter Sun) and executive producers for Fifty Fathoms are Patrick Spence (Marvellous), Simon Donald and Dennis Quaid, with Andrew Wood as producer and Kieron Hawkes as Director. Gabriel Silver is executive producer for Sky.
The third and final trip to the Arctic Norwegian settlement of Fortitude features returning key cast including Dennis Quaid (Far from Heaven), Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), Sienna Guillory (Stan Lee’s Lucky Man), Luke Treadaway (A Street Cat Named Bob), Alexandra Moen (Strike Back), Mia Jexen (Happiness) and Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson (Jar City).
