A Teaser Trailer for the upcoming second season of The Forstyes has been released, giving viewers a hint at what’s in store when the period drama returns. The new reimagining of John Galsworthy’s Nobel Prize-winning novels is filmed at The Bottle Yard Studios and on location in Bristol with Film Office support.
In this next chapter the proud dynasty faces a new era of scandal, ambition, and shifting loyalties. As love, legacy and reputation collide, the cracks in the family’s polished façade grow ever deeper.
Richard Rankin (Outlander, Rebus), Sarah Alexander (Pennyworth, Jonathan Creek) and Nia Ashi (Bob Marley: One Love) will join the ensemble cast, whilst the returning ensemble includes Francesca Annis (Flesh and Blood), Jack Davenport (The Morning Show), Tom Durant Prichard (Miss Scarlet), Naomi Frederick (Industry), Jamie Flatters (Avatar: The Way of Water), Millie Gibson (Doctor Who), Danny Griffin (Fate: The Winx Saga), Owen Igiehon (Disclaimer), Eleanor Jackson (Royal Mob), Tuppence Middleton (Downton Abbey: A New Era), Justine Moore (Call the Midwife), Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Joshua Orpin (Titans), Eleanor Tomlinson (One Day) as well as three-time Emmy Award winning Susan Hampshire, who starred in the celebrated 1960s BBC version of The Forsyte Saga.
Adapted by acclaimed screenwriter Debbie Horsfield and UK production company Mammoth Screen (the team behind global television hit Poldark), The Forsytes is produced for 5 and Masterpiece.
In a recent Masterpiece interview, writer Debbie Horsfield revealed an absolute can’t-miss season to come when describing what’s ahead: “Where we leave it at the end of Season 1 is with some potential family secrets which are about to explode—it’s like we’ve identified there’s a hand grenade there, and it’s about to be lobbed into Season 2.
